The media center at Cedar Island Elementary School is a place of learning, books and… rock music! On the evening of Dec. 17, eighteen fourth and fifth graders in the Modern Band took over the media center to put on a show for their families and friends. 

Osseo Area Schools’ Preschool and Prekindergarten Programs for the 2025-26 school year open for registration in January 2025. Programs are for children who will be three or four years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2025. Each program is designed to foster curiosity and creativity while supporting the growth of every scholar during their education journey. Visit district279.org/preschool-prek for details. 

In November and December, the nonprofit organization Elpis Enterprises has been visiting schools around the district to give fourth grade students information about birds and help them to build birdhouses of their own.

Throughout the months of December and January, various musical concerts will be held at schools across the district. Here's a list of upcoming performances.

After further review, the school-based health center mentioned as part of Crest View’s repurposing is going to be placed at Park Center Senior High School instead. There are a variety of reasons for this change, including easier access for more scholars and their families and a more district-centralized location. 

Community Education’s Early Childhood & Family Education catalog was recently mailed to community members in Osseo Area Schools.
